The short version
- No accounts. You never sign up or log in.
- No personal information is collected. We don't ask for names, emails, ages, photos, location or contacts.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing follows you around inside or outside the games.
- Progress stays on your device. Scores and unlocked levels are saved only on the phone, tablet or browser you play on.
- No third-party code. No advertising, analytics, social media or tracking SDKs, and no outside fonts or services.
Who we are
Mormon Games is a set of free Book of Mormon games for children, youth and families, published by BOM Games LLC (“we”, “us”). It is an independent fan project and is not made or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This policy covers the website at bom.games (mormon.games and bookofmormon.games redirect there) and the games on it (Samuel's Escape, Nephi and the Brass Plates, Moroni: The Last Nephite, Nephi's Broken Bow, and any games added later), and the Mormon Games mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android (together, “the games”).
Information we collect
None. The games do not collect, store, share or sell any personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no chat, no messaging, no user-uploaded content, no in-app purchases and no ways for players to contact each other or share anything publicly.
The games do not use cookies for tracking, advertising identifiers, device fingerprinting, location, the camera, the microphone or contacts.
Game progress saved on your device
To remember things like your best score, which levels you've finished and your settings, the games save a small amount of game data in your device's local storage (in a web browser this is called localStorage; the apps use the same mechanism inside the app). This data:
- contains only game progress, never personal information;
- stays on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else;
- is not shared between devices or browsers;
- can be erased at any time by clearing your browser's site data for bom.games, or by deleting the app.
Ads, analytics and third parties
There are no ads of any kind, no analytics, no crash-reporting services and no tracking. The games contain no third-party software development kits (SDKs) for advertising, analytics, attribution, social media or anything else. The games contain no links to other websites or apps.
The mobile apps include everything they need and work fully offline. They do not connect to the internet to play.
Website hosting
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers necessarily receive basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) in order to deliver the pages to you and to protect the site from abuse. We do not use this information to identify, profile or track anyone, and we have not turned on any analytics or tracking features. The mobile apps don't use the website to play.
Children's privacy
The games are made for children (including children under 13), youth and families. Because we do not collect any personal information from anyone, we do not collect personal information from children. This is designed to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU and UK GDPR (including the UK Age Appropriate Design Code), and the requirements of the Apple App Store Kids Category and the Google Play Families Policy.
Specifically, the games have no third-party advertising or analytics, no behavioral advertising, no account creation, no way for children to share personal information publicly, and no links out to other websites or apps. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has somehow sent us personal information (for example by emailing us), contact us and we will delete it.
If you email us
If you choose to email us for help, we'll receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you, don't add you to any list, don't share it, and delete it when it's no longer needed to answer your question. Please don't include personal details about a child.
Your choices and rights
Since we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. You can remove saved game progress yourself at any time as described above. If you have any questions about your privacy rights, contact us.
Security
The website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Game progress never leaves your device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above. We will not start collecting personal information from children.
